Begin mixed media piece. Students will choose a theme, then create a watercolor background on watercolor paper. Using Sharpies, they will "break up the plane" using geometric shapes. Over this background they will print terxtural objects such as leaves, twigs--anything that has texture that will take ink and leave an impression that goes along with their theme. After the prints are dry, the students will then work back into their design with details in sharpie or acrylic paint. | Assigned for Friday: A REALISTIC ANIMAL--from life or photo, shaded and complete! |
