Hamilton Cottage
“Both of us grew
up in large families, so we’re used
to having a lot of people around the dinner
table,” Jacques
Desloges, Hamilton housedad, explains why they
are at home with a large group of boys.
Jacques
and Lillian Desloges journeyed from Canada
to enrich our lives in 2001. Formerly
from North Bay, Ontario, Canada, this move
continues an odyssey of caring for others
that began over 20 years ago.
Leaving behind
successful careers in the medical field,
Jacques as a psychiatric nurse
and Lillian
as a geriatric nurse, they made the decision
to work full-time with children at Mount
Dora after serving six years as foster
parents in
Canada.
Married 21 years, they have
three incredible children … Stephanie, 20,
attends Faulkner University in Alabama; Karen,
19, attends Rochester
College in Michigan; and, Ryan, 17, attends
Mount Dora Bible School.
“
We’re thrilled to have the chance to
raise a large family of boys! Each one of them
is unique and a blessing from God,” Lillian
says.
“
While they can be a handful, at times,
we wouldn’t
be anywhere else. It’s a wonderful
feeling to know we are helping them grow
up the right
way,” adds Jacques.
Their sense
of destiny and purpose helps them provide
the home these boys desperately
need
and want.
