“Everybody at my old school
liked to pick on me because I didn’t have
a family … I didn’t have a normal life.
I only wanted a place where I belong, where I count!” cries
out one 12-year-old girl whose voice speaks for
all children living the nightmare known as foster
care.
A Place to Belong.
Last year, over
500,000 children were removed from their homes
due to neglect and abuse.
Far too many
will be bounced from home-to-home, case worker
to case worker. Sadly, some will find themselves “lost
in the system.” Their confidence and
self-worth will be destroyed and, even more
devastating,
they will experience the loss of identity and
family … leaving
them with a longing for a sense of belonging.
That
changes when they arrive on the campus of Mount
Dora Children’s Home. Maintaining a
network of trained Christian families allows
us to offer every child who is unable to adapt
to
the Residential Care setting or needs the individualized
care and attention found in our Foster Care
program the opportunity to find their “place.”
They
receive the nurturing, support and personal
care previously denied their young lives. Our
staff is dedicated to help each child achieve
success.
We promote their individual talents and provide
the parental love and attention these children
crave.
Are you ready to provide these
children with a home?
