Burton Cottage
“We love our job here!
While the girls can be a challenge, we can’t
think of another more rewarding career than
helping children have a better life,” Cathy
Brown, Burton Cottage housemom describes their
role in the lives of every girl living with
them.
Ricky and Cathy Brown joined
our staff in January 2003 when they moved from
Shelbyville,
TN.
Ricky worked as a warehouse supervisor and
Cathy served as a daycare director for their
local congregation.
Married 29 years, they
have two wonderful children … Adam,
20, recently graduated from Full Sail University
with a degree in digital graphic design and
Katy, 14, who attends Mount Dora Bible School.
“We’ve learned
a lot about people since moving here. Never
in our wildest imaginations
could we imagine anyone treating their
children the way some of these girls have suffered,” Ricky
offers.
“That’s why we’re
committed to help every girl who lives with us. As a result of our life here, we’re
becoming better parents and deepening
our relationship with our children,” Cathy
states.
They are certainly making
a positive difference with their girls.
