Churches
"My understanding of why a child needing
a safe place was dramatically changed when someone
from
Mount Dora Children’s Home spoke at our
church. I’m more excited than ever that
we help them help children,” comments Bobby
Groves, North Tampa elder after a recent church
presentation.
Open Hands. Open Hearts.
Churches give to help
our children in a variety of ways. They provide
prayers, Change for Children,
financial support, food, birthday gifts,
holiday gifts, clothing and soup labels as some
of
the opportunities to help each child enjoy
a normal
life. Every day a life is changed because
a church is personally and practically fulfilling
James’ description
in James 1:27 of “pure and faultless
religion.”
Churches also help by inviting
our children to join them for worship services,
encouraging
various
groups to visit the campus and undertake
special projects. Since 1945, Churches of
Christ believe
that caring for the defenseless is important
and offering hope is vital in saving a young
life from
the abuse, abandonment and neglect far too
many suffer.
Churches help in another critical
way by scheduling one of our staff to speak about
the work at
Mount Dora Children’s Home. Whether
it’s
an update on current activities, introducing
our work to your congregation for the first
time or
expressing our thanks for your involvement,
we have several men capable and willing to
present
a program and/or lead your regular worship
service.
